HOLLYWOOD, CA – CineVantage Productions has begun principal photography for the 2016 release of the new documentary film RE-IMAGINING PHILANTHROPY. Based on the book of the same name, Jimmy LaRose, author, civil society advocate and global cause entrepreneur takes donors and volunteers on a wild ride into the upside down world of nonprofit management. Hailed as both provocative and uplifting RE-IMAGINING PHILANTHROPY uses an “emperor has no clothes” approach to confront the “crazy-making” that’s paralyzed the charitable sector for the past fifty years. Relying on humor and vivid story-telling RE-IMAGINING PHILANTHROPY “challenges the existing order of things” inspiring philanthropists to solve global problems by transforming the nonprofits in whom they invest.

Re-Imagining Philanthropy

charities need your mind more than your money

THE MOTIVE

  • Ensuring that they, like me, experience life worth living
  • Manifest Living & Philanthropy Applied
  • Respecting any and all attempts others employ

THE MOVEMENT

  • Truth never fears a challenge
  • Take back control of your charitable giving
  • Nonprofits and Non-growth…forty years of failure
  • Charities need your mind more than your money

THE MONEY

  • Money is more important than mission (or ministry)
  • Smart nonprofits fire their Executive Director and hire a CEO
  • Donors are more important than clients or causes
  • Increased overhead is the key to nonprofit success
  • Restricted giving…for donors who protect their investment

THE MANAGEMENT

  • Volunteer boards don’t work and never will
  • Make your CEO the chairman (it’s OK…she already is)
  • Successful boards aren’t really boards
  • Strong CEOS are the key (not strong boards)
  • Real board members don’t fundraise

THE MEANS

  • True fundraising…needs and promises
  • Trust is built through multiple transactions
  • It’s not about their mission…it’s about yours
  • Do they know what makes you tick?
  • Reasons donors give…Jerry Panas vs. Jimmy LaRose
  • Major Gifts Ramp-Up Motivation Matrix
  • True fundraiser…the daughter I never had

THE METHOD

  • The power and influence of nonprofit consultants
  • Feasibility studies: the crack cocaine of consulting
  • The Feasibility Study is Dead – The Ketchum Co.
  • Eight secrets consultants don’t want you to know
  • Super Consulants…what donors truly want
  • Feasibility Study vs Major Gifts Ramp-Up Model
  • Consulting…a new agenda

THE MODEL

  • RE-IMAGINING PHILANTHROPY…a Case Study
  • The role of the VETERAN GIVER

  • The role of the INVOLVED DONOR
  • The NON-ROLE…NO FEASIBILITY STUDY
  • The role of the RESTRICTED GIFT
